SUCCESSFUL CONSIGNMENT GUIDELINES

Scene II is currently (Sept 09) is currently taking Fall and Winter items. However, please call ahead. We will accept current hardcover books (in excellent condition), costumes, cd's, shoes, purses, formal wear, jeans, swimsuits and vintage at anytime.
SCENE II ACCEPTS:

Women's	Men's	Accessories	Kid's	Vintage/Funky/Costumes
Outerwear, Casual, Career, Formal, Lingerie, Maternity, Bras, belts, socks, etc are accepted in very limited quantities	Slacks, Jeans, Shirts, Sweaters Men's Items accepted in small quantities	CD’s,DVD’s, Bags, Hats, Jewelry, Scarves, Belts, Shoes, Gloves	Clothing Infant and up, small toys, books, stuffed animals	Typically 25 years or older, unusual/costumes, hats, gloves, purses,wigs

SCENE II DOES NOT ACCEPT:
Men’s Suits, Men’s Blazers, Strollers, Highchairs, Car Seats, Furniture & Housewares.

PREPARE YOUR ITEMS FOR CONSIGNMENT SALE:
All items must be clean, pressed and in excellent condition. They must be brought in neatly folded in boxes or on hangers. We will be happy to provide hangers if needed.  Do not remove any ‘new’ tags, they make the items more valuable for resale. Shoes and purses must be dusted and cleaned out. Items will be donated to a local charity if they are found to be unacceptable for sale at Scene II. If you are unsure if the condition of your Vintage items would be acceptable, please bring them in and we can determine that for you.

Reasons for rejection:

Stains (Number one!) Torn Fraying Pills Arm Pits (deodorant, yellow) Missing Pieces (buttons, clips, decorations, etc.) Odor (cigarette, mothball, mold) Dirty Wrinkled Out of style, date Worn out (especially shoes) Sun faded Yellowing Pet Hair 3 C’s: Collars, Cuffs and Crotches

BRING YOUR ITEMS TO THE SHOP
There are three ways to approach the drop off:

Number one: Drop & run; drop your items off, you may leave and we can review your items at our leisure and we will donate any unacceptable items to charity, drop and run does not work if you want your items returned to you.

Number two: By Appointment; call ahead to set up an appointment, your items will be reviewed and you may leave with any unacceptable items at that time. Depending on the amount of items you have, this generally takes no more than 15 minutes. Please understand that customers come first so there could possibly be an unforeseen wait. It is advisable to call ahead to make sure we are accepting items, we may ask you to wait a few days before bringing your things in.

Number three: Casual, once you are an established consignor, if have just a few items you may stop by at any time. Please understand that there are peak periods for consignments and we may not always be accepting items.




WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Scene II sets the price and once the item sells you will receive 40% of the selling price or store credit. You may check on your account at anytime by calling, stopping by or e-mailing us. Consignment payouts under $20.00 are made at the store, payouts greater than $20.00 are made in the form of a check and will be mailed to you. Please note that checks may take up to two weeks to receive. The item will stay on the sales floor at full price for 60 days and then it could either be placed on sale or donated to a local charity. Your items will generally be on the sales floor for 90-120 days.

Scene II pledges to total honesty to sell your items to the best of our ability. Our goal is to satisfy our customers, buyers and seller alike. In order to do this, we must be selective, price fair, and move the merchandise quickly. A fast turnover is what we all want in this partnership. Please trust our judgement if we can not use your items in our store.
